Cooling Coil

Stainless steel cooling coils are used to lower the temperature of the digestive solution during the dilution phase. Cooling inactivates the collagenase to prevent healthy islets cells from being digested. This coil is used with a cold water bath or with the Ricordi Isolator Chiller. Individual coils are not sold sterile, but can be autoclaved prior to the first use.

Biorep strongly suggests using a new coil for each isolation. Attempting to clean and reuse the coil is not recommended.
